Tracey is a multi-disciplinary artist and writer working with knitted textiles and print. She has a degree in Fine Art and a Masters in site specific knitting. Her practice utilises craft skills of knitted textiles to explore social narratives of place associated with women’s histories, viewed within a contemporary art situation.
While living in Shetland she developed a creative practice designing intricate, traditional, Fair Isle knitting patterns inspired by people, landscapes and colour while teaching specialist online colour blending workshops.
Tracey brings a skills based, creative, confidence-boosting, experimental workshop where you will learn to successfully and confidently choose and blend your own colours for your own projects.
At this workshop you will learn how to: -
• see and work with colour, tone and contrast
• blend colours in your knitting to create harmonious patterns
• see what you can see and what you cannot immediately see in a colour blended motif
• get excited about colour and be brave with your colour choices
• change the colours in other designers’ patterns for your own colours
Experience Level – Anyone who can knit a stitch and purl a stitch who wants to experiment with and understand colours within motifs.
