Sophie is an established mosaic artist and workshop tutor. She once attended a workshop, which sparked a hobby, and is now a full-time business. Her enthusiasm for the craft is infectious and she loves nothing more than passing her love of mosaic onto others.

Her own mosaic creations consist of bespoke art pieces, large public installations, as well as a range of jewellery, mid-century mirrors and prints of her original mosaics, she has an Etsy shop with affordable pieces for the home and garden.

“I love upcycling beautiful and often discarded crockery, rediscovering familiar patterns from past decades sparking memories for myself, and also the customer or viewer.”

The Workshop

This is an opportunity to make a unique mosaic for your outside space. You will become familiar with the cutting tools and find out what is needed to enable your mosaic to last in the British climate.  

Swallows, flowers, bees and garden swirls! There will be a variety of shapes to choose from which will be prepared before the workshop to enable maximum making time on the day. Along with glass tesserae there will be patterned china and pottery to rummage through, and if you have any precious broken ceramics from home, bring them along as this will make your piece even more personal!
