Sally Kheng studied Art, Design and Business Studies at Trent College and Fine Art at Edinburgh College of Art. She has spent many years sketching and painting her local Lincolnshire landscape.
“I see the landscapes in vivid shades and I want to share my rose-tinted glasses with the viewer. I first depict the subject in sketchy scribbles of black pen in my sketchbook, then I reawaken my drawings in watercolour, fabric and threads.”
The Workshop
Have you ever wanted to keep an art sketchbook but just keep opening it to find you don’t know how to start? This workshop will give you ideas for how to begin, for your page layouts, your colour choices, and help to encourage your freedom to create stunning pages that you can enjoy forever.
Sally is a professional artist and has been keeping sketchbooks for years, recording her visual ideas that she later references in her studio for paintings. She will demonstrate the simple thought processes behind her books and give great tips on how to enjoy the process of recording your ideas in a sketchbook.
The workshop is designed to help you create 2 lots of double pages in your sketchbook. Sally will provide inspiration sheets for your subject themes, colour palette suggestion cards and different tools and mediums to experiment with.
She will focus on layout, subject, colours, tools, extras and feelings.
