Join us for a long weekend of breaking the rules, permission to play and forgetting all the should do’s!
Deep dive into your creative aesthetic, explore textile techniques and mix them up in unusual ways. This will be an ideas incubator of a weekend, an exploration into YOU, and creating visual interpretations of this.
You will leave armed with new techniques, samples and mood boards… a unique and clear ingredients list for your own practice.

The journey starts the moment you decide to join us… Book your place and start noticing what brings you joy. Gather objects, images, words, memories that resonate deeply. Look out for moments where your heart skips a beat… colours, textures, feelings.

Friday 26th September 2025
Gather - Join us on Friday at the fabulous Hope and Elvis. A magical space filled with the most glorious vintage textiles and ephemera. Wend and Jayne will guide you through creating mood boards, flat lays, word webs. We will look at colour and create palettes unique to you, using paint, fabrics, whatever feels right.
These gathered fabrics, threads, textures and colours will then be used to inform the next 2 days…
Saturday 27th September 2025
Play – On Saturday we will spend the day exploring textile techniques and mixing them up. From stitching on paper to exploring water-soluble fabric, you will be encouraged to continue following your instincts and only creating what brings you joy. We will let go of thoughts about the end result... just enjoying the process and go with the flow.
Sunday 28th September 2025
Curate – on Sunday we will bring our inspiration, found objects and textile explorations together. We will use collage techniques, patchwork, stitch and/or weave to make considered gatherings. Beginning to make sense of our No Rules journeys, observing differences and what we don’t like as much as what we do!
What you will take home
You will leave the weekend with a much greater knowledge of your creative being. You will have permission to do things YOUR way and a release from the attachment to all the ‘should do’s.
These 3 days are designed to get you constantly asking ‘what if?’. There’s no better place to do this, than in the company of like-minded souls!

There are lots of accommodation options nearby (not included in the retreat price) and a list can be made available upon booking. Please bring your lunch each day or alternatively visit one of the 2 cafes on site or the award winning farm shop.
